Blog Post: How to Store Your Stickers! by Ana Saenz
If you’re like me, you’ve accumulated a ton of stickers over the years that are now strewn everywhere across your room. Some are partially used sheets that you love but may have forgotten about. Some are stickers that you use on a daily basis. Some are hard to find collectors-items or stickers that are no longer in print. Some are sheets that you are waiting for the perfect occasion to use! How do you keep track of all of these stickers? Here are some of my favorite ways to store stickers. Use any one of them and you will never lose another sticker again.
An Old Shoe Box
This is probably the first way most people begin storing their sticker collection. Just grab an old shoe box and start throwing your sheets inside. To help further organize your box, you can group your stickers by brand or type using Zip-lock baggies. With a simple box, you can easily store a few hundred sticker sheets. When the box gets full, then just grab a new box and start all over again. You can have one box dedicated to fun things, such as birthday parties, holidays, and vacations, another box for daily to-do chores, like paying bills, cleaning the house, exercise routines, and even a box for work. You can then stack all of these boxes neatly in your closet where they will be easy to access whenever you need.
Photo Book
Shoe boxes are great for storing a large number of stickers, but they make it difficult to find the perfect sticker. The perfect sticker may be buried on the bottom of your box. For an easier way to find your perfect sticker, try using a photo book. Place each sticker sheet can in its own plastic insert. This has the added bonus of protecting your stickers in case you ever spill water on your book. You can even put tab separators to identify which section the stickers are in. I suggest storing your hard to find and unique stickers in a photo book so you can easily find them when the perfect time arrives.
Zippered CD Binder
An old CD binder is perfect for planners on the go. If you love planning at coffee shops or at your best friend’s house, then grab an old CD binder case and store your stickers in there. This has many of the same benefits as the photo book but with the added benefit of being much more portable. Just throw your case in a backpack or purse along with your favorite planner and you’ll be ready to hit the road. Plus, you’ll have that cool 90’s look which is coming back in style.
Pegboard
This is for the true planner lovers. Dedicate an entire wall to your stickers. You can find nice pegboards from Container Store, IKEA, or even from Home Depot. Don’t forget some baskets, plastic baggies, and extra pegs so you can easily hang your collection. Now you can see all your stickers at once and can save time by not having to flip through hundreds pf pages or dig through several boxes to find the perfect sticker.
Use Them All
Of course, you can always use a combination of the three. Store the fancy expensive stickers in a photo book so that they have the extra layer of protection provided by the hard cover and plastic sheets. Keep your most used in a CD binder case so you can easily take them to your favorite coffee shop to plan. Use your box to store partially used sheets or sheets that you only use occasionally so you can store them out of the way in your closet. The wall peg board is best for the ones you use most when you are planning at home.
